Yes, a 6-core 8th generation iMac should be OK, and 16 gigs of RAM should be do-able. Maybe I can throw in my opinion here, for what it's worth I have read many things but it's a confusing picture due in part to the peripheral connections I will need for Joystick and Bluetooth mouse for which I think I will need some sort of hub anyway I digress, while I know the Macbook has an HDMI output I was just wondering if the iMac could be used in some way as a monitor instead and what would I need to achieve a fullscreen replication of the Macbook I have been impressed with the reviews and feel it has what I need in terms of CPU /GPU power, may seem strange and a bit over the top, overkill in fact, but the laptop is to be used for Fight simulation (namely Xplane 11 initially and 12 when it arrives) anyway was wondering is there a way to make the iMac a second display or mirror at full resolution what is being shown on the Macbook.
